The problem is that your XCRYSDEN_SCRATCH variable is defined as "y",
and this directory does not exists. Edit you profile (either
$HOME/.cshrc or $HOME/.bashrc, depending on your shell) and set
XCRYSDEN_SCRATCH accordingly (i.e. to something like $HOME/xcrys_tmp),
then source your profile. That should fix your problem.
